Our story
A sustainable future
Les Ondes is a unique venue in the Belgian Ardennes. A sustainable future depends on the well-being of the natural elements. And so we are committed to working hand in hand towards a healthy ecosystem. Nature conservation organisations, entrepreneurs, and your average citizen – all have a vital role to play. But what really strikes a chord with us is that nature shouldn’t be kept under lock and key. Why? Because reconnecting with nature opens your heart, mind, and senses to how precious the planet is.
How Les Ondes Walks the Talk
Reconnecting
We organise outdoor activities on a dynamic natural terrain. Fresh air, the power of nature, and time for reflection – they get people thinking. What matters in life? Nature reconnects you with what really matters, e.g. meaningful relationships and a sustainable now.
Resilience building
Natural regions are indispensable for the planet. They counteract harmful climate change and make the land more disease and flood resistant. At Les Ondes, we give water and native vegetation the space they need to flourish. We act on our commitment to preserve local and natural flora and fauna.
Development
Forest and orchard restoration and maintenance enhances biodiversity. Our food forest is a great example. To create it, we repurposed a former production forest of pines. This supports nature’s healthy development: the trees are more resilient against the elements, and the fruit nourishes animals, humans, and the soil.
The food forest creates a sustainable partnership between people and the planet.
Sustainability Mission
The world needs a healthy Earth. We share this land and have a common responsibility towards its care. How can we make that a reality? The global movement – Commonland – advocates for partnering with nature and local communities. Now, that’s a movement we can get behind. Our compass is the 4 Returns framework. When you invest energy into restoring the land, it yields a sustainable return.
